Shaw Contract draws inspiration from natural materials for new Abide LVT collection

Shaw Contract was influenced by Scandinavian design principles and the beauty of nature during the design process for its latest luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) collection, Abide.

The wood visuals for the 18cm x 122cm tiles are drawn from oak, walnut and wenge, embracing these natural materials as the inspiration for interiors where durability, practicality and resilience are linked to successful outcomes.

All 16 colourways of Abide LVT are In Stock In Australia, are Low VOC Certified to the rigorous indoor emissions requirements by Floor Score and formulated without ortho-phthalates.

Alongside its natural beauty, wood was chosen for its ability to project emotions like “wisdom and the quest for knowledge, patience and healing”, all of which are qualities embedded in modern commercial environments.

“The tactile appearance is amplified by lightly embossed textures that create a deep authenticity to the design, one that evokes an emotional response, we can feel as vividly as we can see,” explains the Shaw Contract design team.

But the new range isn’t just aesthetically and environmentally impressive.

It’s also tailor made for high traffic areas with a 20mm-wear layer with ExoGuard+ topcoat – an advanced topical finish technology that delivers the highest performance scratch resistance and resists UV light degradation, hand sanitisers, disinfectants and common stains.

Thanks to its plank format, Abide LVT can be installed in a range of different ways including ashlar, brick, herringbone and stagger. Designers can also group two or three planks together for a large format feeling to build scale.
