Established in late 2005, Christopher Polly Architect is an emerging architecture practice based in Sydney. Possessing unique skills and experience, the practice is concerned with providing innovative and refined architectural outcomes that resonate a simplicity, conceptual rigour and material invention. Through the detailed examination of client needs and the historical, cultural and physical conditions of often complex sites, the practice is committed to developing unique architectural situations that respond to sustainability, constructability and current & likely future patterns of use. Harnessing available technologies and an inventive use of materials, light and space, it seeks to re-examine prevalent planning methods with investigative research based processes in pursuit of meaningful compositions pertaining to our modern understanding of place and relationships to landscape. Projects are undertaken throughout Sydney, primarily in inner-city, city and suburban locations across a range of scales and types. With a detail design focus, these encompass new houses, additions and alterations to existing houses, boutique commercial and multi-residential developments.
