Simple and versatile, the first of a series of product reintroductions from Herman Miller’s classic George Nelson range.
First introduced by Herman Miller in 1946, the Nelson Platform Bench was designed by George Nelson for his own office.
The low platform bench was designed to be a multi-functional addition to the home, providing storage space, additional seating and also serving as a base for the modular Basic Cabinet Series.
Gregg Vander Kooi, product manager at Herman Miller, says Nelson and his associate Ernest Farmer designed with versatility in mind: “They believed that properly designed modern furniture should be able to function anywhere.”
The Nelson Bench is the first product from Herman Miller’s classic George Nelson range to be reintroduced by Living Edge. Available in three sizes, the bench has a maple finish with ebonised or chrome plated metal legs.
