Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Bivouac
Start Date: 07/10/2011
End Date: 30/07/2012
The Centre Pompidou-Metz in France will be the stage for a 1,000-square-metre retrospective exhibition charting almost 15 years of design collaboration between the Bouroullec brothers from October 2011 until July 2012.
The show, the brothers' first major solo exhibition in France, includes prototypes, finished objects, hand-crafted pieces and mass-produced items, documenting the extraordinary diversity of the designers’ work. Inspired by key concepts in the Bouroullecs' research – objects that are nomadic, ephemeral, modular, organic and flexible – the exhibition is conceived as a Bivouac, a temporary encampment constructed from the objects and textiles designed by the Bouroullecs.
