C+A TALKS series: Tom Kundig

Start Date: 28/05/2012

End Date: 31/05/2012

Internationally acclaimed US architect Tom Kundig will be in Australia this May for the annual C+A TALKS series, presented by Cement Concrete and Aggregates Australia (CCAA).

Kundig is a principal of Seattle-based architecture firm, Olson Kundig Architects – a practice that has twice been included in Fast Company's Top Ten most innovative companies in architecture. He will be giving lectures in Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Sydney as part of the annual lecture series, and will present a selection of his recent work – covering residential, commercial and institutional commissions.

Kundig's work is characterised by signature detailing and raw, kinetic construction which together explore new forms of engagement with site and landscape. His work is the subject of two books published by Princeton Architectural Press, Tom Kundig Houses and Tom Kundig: Houses 2. He has received a National Design Award in Architecture Design from the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt (2008), an Academy Award in Architecture from The American Academy of Arts and Letters (2007), and was selected as a finalist for the 2005 National Design Award for Architecture.

Tickets for the series can be booked online through www.concrete.net.au, available from 1 April.
