Facet Studio’s fitout for Vietnamese restaurant, Phamish, incorporates decorative partitions and bright colours to create an expansive interior.
Phamish, a Vietnamese Restaurant located in Darlinghurst, is a small fitout in an extremely limited space. Using the outline of a chrysanthemum and a gold colour scheme, the new design incorporates graphic design elements that create the feel of an expansive interior.
The partition is a system that softly defines spaces, and is widely utilised in Asia. The design team decided to randomly locate five partitions adorned with chrysanthemum and gold. As a result, a space was formed between the partitions and the existing walls, which is where customers get a sense of depth. By spreading the chrysanthemums over five panels, the void between the sliced-open flowers creates a strong visual theme.
