This project involved alterations and additions to a 1930s timber cottage in Queensland. Most of the new work is located under the original cottage, minimising the footprint and therefore the neighbourhood impact on a steep inner-city site.
Views towards Brisbane’s CBD are to the east, so the new walls are carefully considered to manage morning heat loads and glare whilst providing the appropriate outlook. Views are edited to stitch the interior with the inner-suburban landscape and views of the CBD beyond.
